Privacy Statement

At ALK, we are committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect about you to process orders and to provide a more personalized shopping experience. Please read on for more details about our privacy policy.

What information do we collect? How do we use it?
When you order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, credit card number, and expiration date. This allows us to process and fulfill your order and to notify you of your order status.

When you register, we ask for your name, e-mail address, and mailing address so we can inform you of product enhancements and upgrades.

When you sign up for our E-newsletter, we need only an e-mail address -- which we use to send the information you requested.

When you enter a contest or other promotional feature, we may ask for your name, address, and e-mail address so we can administer the contest and notify winners.

We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important ALK news, special offers, or new product releases that we think you'll find valuable. If you would rather not receive this information, we include an "unsubscribe" option in each e-mail we send.

How does ALK protect customer information?
Your order is secure because we use Secure Sales Server technology (S3) on every transaction that we process. This technology begins by utilizing Netscape's Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology. SSL encrypts the transmissions from both our server as well as your computer. Put simply, the transmission from our server forms a matched pair with the transmission from your computer, so that only data to and from these sources can be valid. If you are using Netscape 1.0 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer 1.0 or later as your web browser, your transactions are fully encrypted and secure. You'll know that it is secure when you see a full yellow key in a blue box in the lower left-hand corner of your Netscape browser. If you use Explorer, you'll see a full "lock" in the status bar. If you use another type of browser, you'll still be able to place an "un-secure" order if you wish. Learn more about our on-line security.

What about "cookies?"
"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information, but they do enable us to store items in your shopping cart between visits.

Will ALK disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
ALK does not sell, trade, share, or rent your personal information to others.
