Sales Account Manager

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing existing sales channels for a number of high-tech software products, as well as developing new ones. Primary duties will include:

  • Sales
    • Develop proposals and presentations
    • Negotiate deals and close sales opportunities
    • Achieve significant penetration of key accounts
    • Establish sales plans to increase profitable sales to key accounts
  • Account Management
    • Develop and implement account management processes, including superior customer service functions, and if required, enhanced order fulfillment processes
    • Managing the needs of key customers, setting up and planning commercial activities specific to the accounts
    • Coordination of new product introductions within key accounts
    • Generation of timely, accurate monthly forecasts
    • Providing accurate and current product information to key accounts for print and web media
    • Coordination with development, marketing, and logistics to enhance ongoing business initiatives
    • Training of customer representatives
    • Monitoring market developments and competitive threats
  • Business Development
    • Identifying, initiating and implementing new business opportunities, primarily with existing customers

In addition, the Sales Account Manager may perform a variety of the following or similar duties:

  • Marketing
  • Product Management

  • Product Testing
  • Fulfillment

The Sales Account Manager will be required to have:

  • Experience bringing new products or solutions to market
  • Strong partnership, negotiation, organizational, and presentation skills at a distribution and reseller level
  • Strong communicative, charismatic, and team playing skills
  • Strong comprehension of pricing, rebate, and marketing spend models
  • Track record of growing existing accounts and selling products through a channel
  • 2-3 years experience in the electronic consumer goods space
  • Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with GPS and navigation software a plus
  • Flexibility and ability to work methodically, accurately, and neatly as well as ability to handle concurrent projects, changes, and reprioritization in a fast-paced environment

UK Mobile Operator Account Manager

The UK Mobile Operator Account Manager will be primarily responsible for managing and growing ALK�s existing relationship with a major UK mobile operator customer. Primary duties will include:

  • Sales
    • Ensure successful sell in/through of software products as per existing commercial relationship
    • Establish relationships/presence with all key areas of customer�s business
    • Set up, plan, and execute sales with significant penetration through all of customer�s sales channels (direct retail, direct web, direct business sales, indirect business sales, indirect dealer and distribution, etc.)
    • Establish plans, forecasts, and incentives to increase profitable sales
      • Timely, accurate monthly forecasts and sales review reports
    • Develop proposals and presentations
    • Review, enhance, and execute all associated commercial activities
    • Negotiate new deals and opportunities under the management's direction
    • Work as a key member of the UK sales team to support, execute, and enhance channel sales strategy
  • Account Management
    • Manage the needs of the customer
    • Set up and plan commercial activities specific to the customer
    • Develop and implement account management processes specific to the customer in collaboration with ALK�s technical support, quality assurance, fulfillment, and marketing teams, including:
      • superior customer service functions
      • enhanced order fulfillment processes
      • new product introductions
      • accurate, current product information updates for print and web media
      • regular communication process with customer
      • adequate provisioning of retail merchandising and point-of-sale
    • Coordinate with development, marketing, and logistics to enhance ongoing business initiatives
    • Training of customer representatives
    • Monitoring market developments and competitive threats
    • Avoid conflict with existing mobile operator and corporate channels
    • Supervise and manage optimal channel stock levels
    • Coordinate relationships between customer and its Asian device manufacturers with ALK�s Taiwan sales and business development organization
  • Business Development
    • Identifying, initiating and implementing new business opportunities, primarily with existing customer
    • Develop relationships customer�s key partners (resellers, manufacturers, customers, and content providers)

In addition, the UK Mobile Operator Account Manager may perform a variety of the following or similar duties:

  • Marketing
  • Product Management
  • Customer Support
  • Product Testing
  • Fulfillment

The UK Mobile Operator Account Manager will be required to have:

  • Thorough understanding of the UK telecommunications and retail and distribution marketplaces as well as of the e-tail and catalogue environment
  • Experience bringing new products or solutions to market
  • Strong partnership, negotiation, organizational, and sales skills at a distribution and reseller level
  • Strong comprehension of pricing, rebate, and marketing spend models
  • Strong communicative, charismatic, and team playing skills
  • At least 10 years experience working with mobile operators or with a variety of distributors and resellers of electronic goods
  • Track record of growing existing accounts and selling products through a channel
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Flexibility and ability to work methodically, accurately, and neatly
  • Ability to handle concurrent projects, changes, and reprioritization in a fast-paced environment
